Unashamedly French, Rody Warot has had an exotic career, winning awards in all corners of the globe. An imaginative weaver of British and French flavours, he now offers his Chef and Front of House Agency to the Hotel industry and his private dining services to the public.
Rody hails from the gastronomically significant region of Normandy, France, which alone gives him a head start. After being traditionally trained, he worked in Paris, London, Bristol and Cardiff before setting sail for the Cayman Islands. It was during this time in paradise that Rody scooped his first award – a gold medal for his impressively original style of cooking.
Since then, cheffing in Turks & Caicos Islands and Scotland, where he has picked up an AA rosette, a Silver Plate and two Scottish Food Honours. His culinary expertise has won him countless fans, including Kate Middleton. Invited by Kate’s parents to the unofficial royal engagement, Rody arranged a spread of gorgeous canapés for an entourage at The Old Boot Inn (a pub that Rody helped to re-launch in 2009), where Kate used to be a regular diner. Kate was bowled over by his rich Normandy paté on toasted brioche and his mouth-watering sticky toffee pudding – the recipe for which he has kept top secret. The pudding has also attracted attention from French and German National television and Radio stations. Rody has featured in Le Monde and the Daily Telegraph newspapers (with full-page spreads), as well as in countless magazines and websites – the blogosphere is going crazy with reviews of his secret-recipe pudding.
